  • Vray Bercon Noise - No Distortion?

    Hi all,

I'm trying to create something using the VrayBerconNoise node, but it seems like the Distortion attributes are hidden, no matter what kind of Noise and Fractal types I use. If I plug a map in to the Dist Map port in the Hypeshade, it doesn't seem to do anything.

    Using Maya 2023.3, V-Ray 5 GPU for Maya, update 2.3 (v5.20.03, revision 31919 from Feb 18 2023).

Might anybody know how I can un-hide the attributes and enable distortion?

    Thanks!

... Ok, I've just seen that the distortion attributes show when I switch to CPU.

Shame that they don't work for GPU too

You could always bake the map as a workaround.

Thank you, yeah, that's a good idea. I've ended up baking my bercon maps anyway, as it seems to render faster that way. Although strangely, they have lost a bit of their dynamic range in the process.
