Not VRay related - "persp -z" camera view.

When I open a new scene in Maya it always opens with a camera persp -z so always have to switch to perspective camera.
Even setting up Use default scene continues to open in persp -z

I have no idea why.

Check the Panels Editor (located in the viewport top-left corner Panels>Panels editor). There go to Edit Layouts and depending on your configuration (single panel. 4 panel, etc.) adjust the Contents.
