  • displacement continuity on open edges

I know if I am using a displacement map on an object and use keep continuity to keep the edges from leaving a gap on water tight geometry, but is there anything to prevent this if I have open edges. For simplicities sake I like to keep an objects 'elements' in tact out of Marvelous Designer but just keep them a single object without welding all the edges. But find in maya the edges all get distorted with a displacement map node, keep continuity is ignored.

Sorry to say, faces must be connected for the Keep Continuity option to work.

You could paint a texture mask where the edge of the uv seam sets the displacement amount to 0 with a soft fade, that will do what you are looking for.
