IPR renders then vanishes

This is a new one. Running an IPR generates an image in the VFB, which then promptly completely vanishes before I can begin to adjust my scene.

Anyone experienced this and know a possible cause?

Ive sometimes had scene lights "disconnect" when using IPR on render layers. All that will remain visible are light materials, but anything being illuminated will go black. This is pretty much whey I never IPR heavy scenes on render layers. I have to restart it all the time. One other thing could be the denoiser, I have had some weird things happen when a denoiser kicks in and it doesnt update correctly.

What do you mean by "using IPR on render layers"? R̶e̶n̶d̶e̶r̶ m̶a̶s̶k̶ b̶y̶ L̶a̶y̶e̶r̶s̶ or simply isolating a render layer (by hiding other layers)? Overall, hard to say what's happening without a scene or a video reproduction.

in the past, when I have a CAD car asset, or some heavy scene on a render layer in Maya (added to collections etc) and Im using Vray RT, sometimes the scene will be rendering ok, then just go dark. I cant remember if I get a maya warning msg or not, but it stopped me using RT on render layers. I do all my look dev on master layer now, then build render layers and just assign stuff...I dont do any look dev on render layers for this reason.

I'm not able to share a video, but it's as simple as described.

I run IPR, the image renders and displays momentarily, then just disappears from the VFB and leaves an empty viewer before I can do anything.

I'm not using render layers, so nothing to do with that.

Well, as I said, it's hard to say what's happening without more info. If you manage to reproduce it again, do post again.
