Chaos Scatter: using groups in area exclude

In Chaos Scatter for Maya i can assign a group to the target. But in the area excluse i can not assign groups and need to assign every single object.
Is there a way to assign groups ? That would save a lot of work

It should work with Sets (Create>Set) instead of a group.
