Hi,
I have made some assets in Houdini that contain a large number of instanced foliage ... pine needles on tree branches and garlands or full trees on some assets. I export these as USD scenes and load them in Maya and render with Vray 6.2.2 Everything renders correctly, but we're hitting a memory ceiling with these assets, as it seems that none of the instances are being instanced but considered as unique geometry. So where one asse should be taking memory of under a 100 Mb, I get about 25 Gb or more depending on the asset. When we add a bunch of these assets to out layout scene, we hit memory limit and crashes our workstations. I tried to troubleshoot and see if I can get the instances to behave properly, but haven't had any luck so far. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
