  • Progressive vs Normal

I am rendering a scene using progressive render mode. Then switching to nederhorst-style settings for production render. However, the scene is rendering differently in "nederhorst" mode, vs Progressive. The normal/nederhorst mode is rendering darker and the "matte" material (using the wrapper) renders shadows on it, while progressive mode does not.

Is there any reason progressive mode would render differently than other modes? I have a scene I can post/send if desired, or maybe you just know what is going on.

I suspect progressive mode has some differences, and this workflow isn't a good idea... I should probably stick with 1 mode, but I'd like to know what is going on.

The matte material will only be completely rendered in the regular (bucket) mode as it as it requires additional lighting calculations, so that part is normal. Not sure about the darker render, but it might be due to the "sub-pixel mapping" option in the color mapping settings.
