  • SSS material turning black when I use opposite colors.

Hey Chaosgroup, was testing SSS today and noticed that when I used say a Blue overall color and then an orange/yellow color as a sub surface color the overall effect seems to turn black.

I usually use a blue overall and orange subsurface color to tune the SSS effect in modo. This way I can see how much front vs back scatter and of course the scatter distance parameter is effecting the look. Currently I can not make an SSS shader that has blue overall with orange Subsurface. Somehow the effect turns everything black. Yet when use white Subsurface color with say blue I do get the proper SSS depth result.

I also think the SSS shader in maya vray is not accounting for scatter color at all.
