  • mayabatch exited

    Hello,

I never had this issue: I have a scene that is quite large (250mb .mb file). I did my test renders within Maya at low resolution. Now i wanted to launch the render via a Batch command line with DR (mayabatch render.exe command) at 4096pix resolution, and mayabatch is always exiting with status 255 or 1.
Not getting any result, i wanted to try to launch the render in maya window at full resolution and it seems to work.
So, not a big deal, but quite strange problem... any hints ?

    regards,

    (Maya 2010/64, win7 64 ultimate, vray_adv_15000_maya2010_x64_10925)

Is there any info in the V-Ray log file? It is called vray4maya_log.txt and is located in the temporary folder for the current user on the machine (the easiest way to get there is to open a Windows Explorer window and type "%temp%" in the address bar without the quotes).

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Again a similar problem. Everything renders fine while working in Maya. But when you render same scene via mayabatch (command prompt) the render crashes. Same scene exported to vrscene and rendered via Vray standalone prompt works fine ??
Might it be related to mayabatch ?

I will really need some way to reproduce this here, so if you can get me that scene to vlado@chaosgroup.com it will be very useful.

We've had the same problem here on occasion. We've found that mayaBatch stability using vray is troublesome when using hyperthreading. We've turned hyperthreading off, and those batch crashes went away. Also, we sometimes have a bug where a batch render is less stable when rendering the master layer, and simply copying the layer to a new layer fixes it.

It's odd as most of the machines we use here also have hyperthreading enabled. In any case, if you can provide some more info (crash dumps, log files) it will be very helpful.
