  • Zdepth Black...again.

    Hey,
This is a common problem, i know. But I can't seem to get decent zDepth maps anymore for some reason. They all come out black no matter what settings I set on the zDepth Render Element! Even computing it from an aim camera doesn't work.

What affects the zDepth map? Do I need special Color Mapping settings? Are the scene measurement unit settings important? I have it set to cm's. Tried mm, no difference.

Camera clip planes? I usually adjust these.

Select your render cam (view it from persp cam):

    Display > Camera/Light Manipulator > Clipping Planes.

It should be obvious but make sure your far clipping plane finishes just outside your scene and is not too small/big.

My only suggestion however someone else might know more solutions!

      You're a genius, snivlem!!
      Thanks!

I always set my clipping plane to a stupid size (or default), and I never knew how to actually see it and change it visually. It works perfectly now
