we have a problem with the restore mesh feature. we are trying to test our ability to work with people off site and have the process be as flexible as possible. what we experience is we can make the proxy in one location, but when we move the proxy to another computer with a different file path it seems to render fine however the restore mesh feature causes maya to crash every single time. I have tested this on several files and meshes and can reproduce the crash every single time. so im not sure how vray can pick up the mesh to be rendered but the import mesh doesnt work. what we also find is if we manually in the attr editor re-link the mesh the restore mesh works fine. but this is a pain if we have hundreds of objects to re-link. we may need to write a script to re-link all meshes once they have been moved, but i thought we should point this out as it seems to be a bug or something that should work.

Restore Mesh Crash - possible bug?

I've fixed the crash for tomorrow's build : 2010-05-22. There were some differences in how the proxy file name is determined for the rendering, viewport preview and the restore mesh option. These are fixed now, so hopefully you shouldn't see this strange behavior. Please test the mentioned build if you can.
