  • Animation checkbox being ignored

I'm getting this error when trying to submit a job through Deadline 3.1. "Animation checkbox under Image File Output is not checked. Deadline requires that animation be enabled." The checkbox is on. I can submit the job using the software renderer. Only when I switch to Vray does the animation checkbox is ignored. I'm currently using a nightly build. In version 1.5.00, I did not have this issue. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

It would be best to ask the guys at Prime Focus; they have access to the nightly builds, so they would know.

My experience with Deadline, use the vray scenes,

if you set it up right, its amazing!!! i mean it..

My rendertimes went down to almost nothing. (and network load etc)

Deadline looks for the animation toggle to be on in the MayaCommon tab. Temporarily switch to the MR or Maya renderer, and toggle on animation. also set your frame range there. Then swtich back to vray. For this and many other little annoying reasons, I would love to see vray switch to the mayaCommon tab... but alas.

this issue has been resolved in the latest update. You should update your deadline. Animation check box is not required for mayabatch rendering.

As far as I know this is already done for the latest builds and for SP1 - the V-Ray animation controls are locked to the Maya ones.

actually I have to make a correction here: after updating to latest vray build, deadline submit stopped working for the reason mentioned above. There was perhaps a change in code with the animation that has resulted in deadline failing. We have solved this issue so please update.
