  • Command to start render?

Hi, what's the command to start V-Ray renderer?

    "render" will start sw renderer
"hwRender" will start the hw renderer

I though vrayRender would start the V-Ray renderer but I get:

// Error: Line 1.11: Wrong number of arguments on call to vrayRender. //

    Thanks.

Hm, for a vrscene we use C:/.../Maya2010/vray/bin/vray -sceneFile=.....

Hi seq, this is an internal command inside Maya GUI.

(I'm modifying the LayoutTools script to user V-Ray instead of Maya Software by default. Steven Uses the "render" command to initiate the thumbnail icon generation).

The command for vray would be interesting for me, too. Also the other additional command line flags when using vray for maya. Are they the same as for vray standalone? Or is there any documentation on that?

No, it is not a good idea, as it does not work - well only just:

            1) V-Ray dumps the image in the wrong folder (working directory, not the props folder)
            2) The image is called untitled, instead of the prop name
            3) the render thumbnail is the wrong size (V-Ray defaults to 640x480, not 128x128 )

Need to fix these before LayoutTools works with V-Ray instead of software.
