  • Distributed Rendering as service

    Hi,

    I have installed the SP1 version as a service on our render farm. Unfortunately, it renders the background black (where the image plane is) and it seems to ignore the hdri in the dome light. It is like the slaves don't see the texture files.
    However when I remove the service and start the slave manually, then everything works as expected.
    Is there anything I should change in order to have the slave to work as services?

    Also, in the distributed rendering settings, there is this new button called "resolve servers". What does it do?

    Thanks,

    Yannick

    You need to specify a proper user account that the service will run with (by default it is a system account, which may not have access to the network drives/paths).

    The "resolve servers" button is useful if you have entered computer names, and will resolve them to their IP addresses.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Hi Vlado,

      thanks for the answer.

      How can I specify the user account? Is it in the change license setting, then in Online authorisation settings?

        via control-panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services

        Select the Spawner services and go to its properties. Then go to the "run as" tab and enter appropriate credentials.

        Regards,
        Thorsten
