  • rawGI render element in SP1 not correct?

I'm not sure if this has been fixed in a nightly build. (haven't installed the latest nightly build). I would expect that the raw GI would not have any diffuse texture maps (checker board). looks like a bug on the vray materials as the SSS2 reacts like i would expect it to.

here are the materials in the scene.

    vray material ground - checker
    vray material ball - checker
    vray material "glass ball"
    vray SSS2

am I crazy? or is this correct?

The checker is a special case, since it has perfectly black areas. In that case, V-Ray will not calculate GI for these areas at all, so it can't provide the raw GI channel. (In general V-Ray will only calculate the GI to the extent that it is needed to produce the final RGB image).

    Best regards,
