  • Extra_Tex not motion blurring and AA?

I have a dirt texture pumping into a Extra_Tex render element for an AO pass. The Extra_Tex Render element does not motion blur or AA is this right? The other render elements filter and moblur fine? Am i using this correctly?

    i am using build 12574?

Can you show a crop of the image? Something else is probably going on, since all the render elements are computed from the same camera rays/intersections - there is no possibility that one element will not be motion blurred.

here is a crop of the image.

i just created a vray dirt texture and connected it to the Extra_Tex render element. Both images are from the same render.

This also brings up the disussion of a dedicated AO pass. just jumping back into Vray... i'm sure you've kicked it around in the forum before.. but having an AO render element even though it's not "correct" is something compositors ask for all the time.. and like it or not it helps.

nine times out of ten just blasting an AO texture like this will work... but often it doesn't when you have a lot of bump/normal maps and displacements. Then you have to go through making an extra set of shaders just for the AO and that can be very time consuming? I'm assuming at least with an AO render element it would take the already setup bump/normal/displacement maps into account.

Any thoughts of just an AO Render Element... (no matter how incorrect it maybe?)

          just my .02

Do you have the "Filtering" attribute enabled in the extra tex element?

let me see if i can re-created it with a simple scene and send it to you.

but its litterally make dirt texure... make Extra_Tex ....connect to Extra_Tex

I am using an object that has point cache animation data... but everything else moblurs and filters...

If you can get me the scene, it will help, as it works fine here on a simple test.

                    sorry for the drama!
