  • Export vrscene with renderregion turned on causes vray standalone to crash

    Hey Guys,

i testrender my stuff inside maya with VRay VFB and VrayRenderegion.

When i forget to turn off the renderregion and then export to a vrscene and send it off to our farm the images fail to render.

How could i disable the vray region via mel? I haven't found the attribute yet....or can u fix the export, so the region does not get exported to the vrscene?!?

    cheers

I have reported that to the developers so they can consider to implement an option for this.
For now you can disable the render region in the V-Ray Standalone by using the option -region=0;0;width;height where width and height are the size of the original image.

Like Zdravko said, you can use the -region option for the standalone to specify that you want the full resolution to be rendered; this will override any region specified in the .vrscene file. I also made a note to allow something like "-region=none" to ignore this region without specifying again the resolution. Another option is to edit the region out of the .vrscene file.

Ok...just to close this thread....vray does not export the renderregion into the vrscene if u temporarily turn off the "Use Vray VFB" while exporting.

        cheers
