  • DR Problem

Hi I have 2 problem with DR, the first one if I batch render my file. It works for the 3 exterior views of my vehicle but then crash when rendering the first interior view. I get the following error message:

Error: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread
    Result: R:/FOlder/scenes/File.ma
    [2010/Dec/9|06:44:33] V-Ray error: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread
Error: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread
Fatal Error. Attempting to save in C:/DOCUME~1/Yannick/LOCALS~1/Temp/Yannick.20101209.0644.ma
// Maya exited with status -1073741819

The other issue (same file) when rendering in the vfb with DR, I get this error:

    [2010/Dec/9|11:26:53] V-Ray: Compiling geometry...
[2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray error: Exception [module=1] : Memory allocation failure; 4164697120 bytes requested; 2065654232 bytes already in heap; 14935232 bytes free heap space.
[2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray error: There was a fatal error rendering the scene.
[2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray warning: Render host renderf (10.0.0.137) is not responding
[2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray warning: Render host renderh (10.0.0.141) is not responding
[2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray warning: Render host rendere (10.0.0.127) is not responding
[2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray warning: Render host renderg (10.0.0.123) is not responding
    [2010/Dec/9|11:26:54] V-Ray: Render interrupted

I am using Maya 2011 Sp1 and Vray revision 13433 form the 24/11

My Maya file might be too big. If this is the case, any suggestion to allow Vray to render it?

    Thanks.

Hi any idea what's creating this error:

Error: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread
    Result: R:/FOlder/scenes/File.ma
    [2010/Dec/9|06:44:33] V-Ray error: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread

// Maya exited with status -1073741819

    This crashing my batch render.

    Thanks

Are you using 64-bit OS on all machines? There is no way to address the requested size on 32-bit OS.

Everything is on winXP 64 bits.
Any idea what's causing the problem?

        Thanks.

Would it be possible to send us the scene to vraymaya@chaosgroup.com ?

We have the same problem (but we don't use DR), on a very simple scene (a sphere, a plane, a VRayCarPaintMtl and GI).

We are talking about it here :

              Hi,
I had to break my file in 2 in order to get it to work. I also clean it up and remove any unseen geometry. Then the file started rendering again.

                Thanks Yannick.

I don't think I can clean my scene even more, as it's only a sphere and a plane, from scratch, with default settings...

Does it work for you with the current nightly build ?
                (Maya2011, VRay for maya 1.50SP1 Nightly Build 14024, Windows 7 64 bit).

alain, your scene seem to render fine with the latest nightly builds.

                  Best regards,

                    Thanks Vlado !
When will this new nightly build be available ?
On the ftp the last build I see for Maya2011 Windows64 bit is the "14024" build (14/02/2011).

                    Thanks.
