I'm having some problems with faceted shadows with physical sun or a maya directional light.
The only way I've been able to get rid of them is to render the surface as a subdiv with high divisions, which slows everything to a crawl.
The surface does have some spikey polys, but I would think a subdiv with 2 divisions would fix it.
It also shows up with dirt. Is the only solution to render with high subdivs?
