Hi,
I found something broken with the Vray physical camera.
I have a scene, with the Vray physical camera focal length that is animated. I also have render layer for the beauty, mattes and AO. So I need to switch the Physical cam on/off depending on the render layer.
But by switching it on/off the focal view change from the one in the physical camera to the one in Maya camera attributes and therefore change the view.
So my problem is that it will render the first render layer fine (beauty with physical cam), the physical cam is off for the mattes and AO.
But when rendering the next frame and back to the render layer with the beauty pass, the focal length doesn't get back to the what's define in the physical cam.
So to work around this, I keyframe the focal length in the Maya Camera attribute and set the Specify FOV in the physical camera to "From Maya Camera".
This looks fine in Maya, it looks fine in the VFB, but doesn't work in the render view or in batch.
It looks like that in Batch or render view, Vray ignore the focal view, set up in the Maya Camera attributes and still follow the Focal Length in the physical camera.
This has been a nightmare on the project I am working.
To reproduce this, create a sphere and a camera. Keyframe different value for the FOV in the Maya camera attributes, set physical camera to "From Maya Camera".
The render with the VFB and render view. It should be different.
Could this be check.
Thanks,
Yannick
