  • Weird results with distributed

    Hey guys,

I get pretty weird results here with distributed rendering and to be honest, I don't get a glue whats wrong.

Most often the issue is in front of the monitor but I tried to figure everything out and at the end: I couldn't figure it out...

So please could anybody point me in the right direction.

Vray build from december 29, 2010

I rendered over our farm, with the same vray build installed, some are Win 7, some Win XP but every slave causes the issue. Only my workstation (render02) is rendering correct.

So the bright areas in the image are the wrong ones....

GI with brute force a primary and light cache as secondary engine.

    Cheers

    Dominik

How do you specify the paths to textures? Are all render slaves able to find the textures in the specified location (e.g. is it on the network, and do they have appropriate rights to reach it)?

    Best regards,

        Ok,

so far I found the following:

My textures were loaded by the slaves ( I have paths like sourceimages/bla.jpg) and these path were correctly translated by every slave.

But I encountered that some slaves had this "busy with 0.0.0.0" thingy...

So for some reason 2 slaves took a long time to load the vray.dll and so were not ready and caused the problems.

After giving them enough time to load and then starting the rendering every works fine.

Does this make sense in any case?

Perhaps it is the old thing with my spawner 2010/2011 problem??

        Cheers

          One other thing to notice:

Sometimes if i start a render with let's say 5 slaves DR, it only takes 2.
Then I stop the render, restart and then it takes the whole 5 slaves. ???

Is it only me with that problems -

Are there any messages about the rest of the slaves?

            Best regards,
            Vlado

              No,

the other have their normal progress messages in their respective render slave window...
only some are sometimes busy with 0.0.0.0

no you're not, I've had similar issues, but frankly gave up on it cause we couldn't find a solution.. so I'm interested in this one too!
