  • error: This irradiance map cannot be used in animation mode

    Hi,

    I get the following error:
error: This irradiance map cannot be used in animation mode

I have made render my file firt with the GI mode: animation (prepass) then when I render the final with the GI mode animation (rendering), I get the error.

Any pointer as why I get this?
I am on Maya 2011, win xp64, Vray build from the 14th of December.

    Thanks,

    Yannick

      Hi Yannick.
I'm starting to get this error now after many years of successful rendering can you explain your resolve a bit more? I do have the file name correct in rendering mode

Did you use the irradiance map viewer to merge files somewhere along the way? One of the early versions did not preserve the animation flag correctly, which caused the errors.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

          Hi Vlado.
I have not used the map viewer to merge as I am character animation rendering, not preserving the animation flag would seem to fit this issue very well as we have not change our prodedure for character animation. I but it's not for every scene just now and again. I'm sending about 7 scenes a day to render and probably 1-2 out of these will have this issue.

next time it happens would you like me to send you the scene archieve via you send it?

Yes, if you can get us reproducible cases, it will be helpful.

            Best regards,
            Vlado

              Hi Stezza,

If I remember correctly, I was only missing the path in the GI settings (auto save map).
