  • rendering artifacts! blue, green dots - clamping colors

    Hi,

I'm rendering this object, and these spots or dot show up in my rendering.
I've come across it once before, testing a cornell box scene. but nothing this extensive.

How ever, when i save the render, it disappears?!? is that something to do with linear workflow? some form of weird clamping in the renderview? I'm using maya's own since the VFB seems unstable and behave strange.

    I'm using maya 2011 sp1 on OSX 10.6.6
    Vray 1.5 nightly - 13942
slightly off-topic (the ftp i got from customer service only had this build - is it possible to get access to other nightlies?)

EDIT: if i adjust the fog multiplier in the glass refraction from 1.000 to 0.100 the dots disappear, everything above .1 makes it appear again.

Okay, i've switched to the VFB, and it doesn't display the errors, so i can test render again ..

must be an error with the maya framebuffer then?

Have you tried the maya FB in 32bit mode?
