  • Opacity map issue

I am not able to attach the outAlpha or outTransparency of a file texture to the opacity map of a vray material. I select outAlpha and then the RGB of the opacity map and the connection doesn't take. MMB Dragging the file right onto the attribute editor connects the outColor, even if there is an alpha in the texture. I have tried tga and tiff.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

Try connecting the outAlpha parameter to each of the RGB components of the opacity map.

    Best regards,

Seems like Im having this problem across the board in the maya 2011 hypergraph.

Edit: I am using the 2.0 beta. This problem was also present in the most recent nightlies. Sorry I should have put this in the beta forum

Heres a link to a screen capture to illustrate.

note: I don't know why the screen capture software turned the arrow into a hourglass.

        Hi,

I can reproduce this problem even with 1.5 sp1.
I'll see if it can be fixed.
As a workaround you can use the connection editor, by clicking other in the menu.

            Hi,

The problem should be fixed in the next nightly/beta.
