      Hellobard,
Substance textures are very broken in OSX (maya crashes when you use them),
so don't bother trying them until we fix the problem (it is not only in RT).

ah okay, i see. well, it is no longer crashing Maya. So that's progress.

man, i'm switching to PC, OS X is always the last to get the fun stuff!

btw, here's a render test i did for you. it looks very badly broken indeed...

That might be due to other code changes unrelated to Substances... looking into it now. Does it work if you disable texture filtering?

          Best regards,

I am unable to turn it off on diffuse substance node as I would do on standard file node. I can only set filtering to the various settings via the Hardware Texturing options on the VrayMtl itself. Is there a way to turn off filtering globally?

It definitively seems like a filtering issue though. Also, the detail in the diffuse map is very blurred compared to the Maya Software render. Even at 2048px resolution on the Substance material.

Take a look at this page how to change the filtering for Substance textures: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/maya...htm#tex_filter

Bilinear or SAT should work fine. In any case, we have found the issue and will fix it as soon as possible.

              Best regards,

ah there we go... i was looking for vray attributes in the diffuse substance node actually, not the substance node itself, but there we go. now it works. bilinear gives me reasonably crispy results, but SAT is very blurry like i mentioned earlier.
anyway, glad to hear i could help
