  • Vrmesh UV map

having a problem importing a mesh with proper uv map.

I have uv on my obj. I can import one file of the obj seq into maya and uv looks fine.

If i try to make a vrmesh out of this same obj with the ply converter (because its an obj seq from houdini) then the object gets 3 uv sets, 2 of which are empty. If I show the third uv set i can see my uv's but it will not render with proper uv.

If I import the obj into maya and then create a mesh from within maya uv seems to be fine. seems to be just the ply converter is somehow not getting the uv map.

ok looks like there is a new option to specify map channel not sure exactly this function. says i need to -mapChannel to be 0 in order to work in Maya. but default is 1? any reason why default cannot be 0 so it just works out of the can?

      This is from Andy Boyd:

      ply2vrmesh.exe -mapChannel 0 -smoothNormals -flipNormals sphere_test.geo sphere_test.vrmesh

      Try that.
