  • Vray won't respect Maya's camera Shear Settings... HELP

Sorry for the "HELP" tag to my post, but I've install 1.5 and notice that this behavior as always been there and never addressed.

I'm doing auto stereoscopic imagery (3D without glasses with 9 camera views) and one important thing I need is that all the camera have a shear value in Y to keep the objects centered properly.

I've noticed that shear in Z works, but not in X or Y.

My deadline is fast approaching for this current project, so if anyone has a workaround or something to get the shear to work it would be immensely appreciated

Can you attach an example scene here?

    Best regards,

Here you go Vlado, just created a simple scene with 3 cameras with different shear value that keep the object centered, similar to what my 3D camera rig does.

You'll notice that it doesn't render like it should, the object shifts completely on camera 1 and 3, but it renders fine with Maya render or Mental ray.

      Thanks a lot,

      Francois

So this is fixed for the next night build tomorrow; if you can check out whether things are ok, I will merge the fix into the stable builds.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

Are you merging the fix in the 1.5 build as well, Vlado?

Not by default; if you need it, please let me know.

              Thank you so much !

How do I get access to the nightly builds?
Is it simply a matter of writing support to get access to them ?

              Thanks again,

              Francois
