Focus distance makes image darker when set under 10 units...

hi,

ive a prob with focus distance and lower values than ca. 10 units..

When I render the scene without DOF everything is ok.
Than I switch on DOF with specify focus on too.
When I use a focus distance from 25 units or more, everything is fine too.
No changes in brightness.
(higher values are fine too)

When I set focus distance to 5 units, the result becomes much darker.

The scene units are centimeter.
Maya2011, vray 2.004, Win7

Its a big prob for me, because its not posible to rescale the whole scene in this case.

Is this normaly?
What can I do?

I made a little testscene to show the prob clearly.

Simply load the scene and start RT engine.
Then scroll from frame 1 to frame 75 and ull see what happens.

For me its a big prob in my actual project, because most take have less than 10 units foacal distance.
I can understand, that phys cam makes it darker, when zoom is the theme.
In real it is the same.

But when I simply fly more near to an object I cant see any reason for massive brightness changes!

What can I do?
