  • Curious bug at render time

    Hi there.

Yesterday I was testing Vray 2.0 for Maya under linux Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwall 64 bits, 2012 version of Maya, hotfix 4.

I did realize that if I active "Use V-Ray VFB", for see renders directly in VFB, and leave activated "Hide Render View", every time I push Maya's render button of the Status Line (the launch render slate), automatically, my ubuntu work area view jumps from anyone to the third one. This doesn't happens with new bless & wonderfull render button of the VFB.

I usually work with 4 workareas (you know, the work area system of linux, usually comes two), the shorcut for move from a working area to another, by default is Control+Alt+Right/Left Arrow. I can't imagine what's happening, maybe you forget erase some code, or is executing the Gnome command "Move to another workspace area">"Workspace 3" for any reason, I don't know.

    Hello,

This is pretty odd, but I doubt it has anything to do with us.
I use Centos and Gnome 2.16.0 and see no such behaviour.

Are you sure it is not caused by some setting in gnome?

    Best regards,
    Teodor
    V-Ray developer

No, at least, till I see no. Launching render in Maya Software, Hardware or MaxwellRender doesn't happens. Its really odd, uh?.

I did imagine that maybe when you made the linux version, you prepare some quick script for take renders in workarea 3 (Maybe coding in workarea1, Maya in workarea2), or that It should be thing about "hide render view" command, that interacts directly with the render window, but if its nothing of this and it doesn't happens there in ChaosGroup, better than better.

Don't worry about, it has been a curious reporting more than a "fix request", I don't know what's happening exactly or how I could relate Maya's render button with Gnome, but... bah!, I'll work with Maya directly in third workarea and going on!.
