  • Black material swatch background help

I've run into a problem where the swatches on the hypershade are appearing black and it's difficult to see anything going on with my reflections and refractions. I thought i may have accidentally changed the swatch properties somehow and i cannot figure out how to change it back. When I create new scene, the swatches appear with the default grey/white checkered background, but when i export my scene and bring it into a fresh one, they still appear black. I've scoured the forums and help files but I couldn't find anything on this. Anyone else run into this problem or knows how to rectify it? Please and thank you!

There is an option in Render Settings -> VRay -> VRay UI, called "Use default background". If it is not checked, you can use your own texture/colour for the background. The default colour when unchecked is black, so this could be what you're experiencing.
    Hope that helps. Good luck.
