I had some signs made up by someone remote from me using tiff files without an alpha channel but with transparency.
The transparency-out of the file node is hooked to a reverse utility node which in turn is piped into the opacity-map of the vray material.
It all rendered fine on his machine with the correct alpha.
On my machine the transparency was not cutting out the shapes at all.
He was using the official build, I was using one of the nightly builds.
I tried the most recent nightly build with the same result, the alpha was not being cut.
I went back to the official build and it worked correctly.
It seems there is an alpha/transparency bug in the nightly builds, possibly related to tiff files.
Before loading the official build, I piped the transparency-out of the file node into the colour-gain of a white ramp node and the transparency of the file was shown correctly. Plugging this into the Opacity-map slot of the vray material still did not work, the alpha was not being cut.
Thanks
