Im having problems installing as the manual says. when i run the command sudo and the filename of the vray exe i get an command not found.

and remember to enable your root user. i think it's in Keychain Access. google root access os x and there'll be tutorials for that.

Hmm, this should not be necessary; I've never enabled the root user on any of our Macs (however my user does have Administrative rights - which may be important).

        Best regards,

really? hmm... maybe it's only for OSX 10.5?
I did have to enable the root user on a 10.6 machine a few months ago though, it just wouldn't accept the sudo command.

ultrasonic. this is what i get from ls -al: -rw-rw-rw-@ 1 albinwikander staff 41316486 Apr 28 03:20 vray_adv_20004_maya2011_snow_leopard_x64.exe

from what i can see i have the right permissions but it seems like the sudo command just wont work the same way in osx lion.

              Nope...there are execution permissions missing...
              Just do: chmod 755 vray_adv_20004_maya2011_snow_leopard_x64.exe
After that it should work...this usually happens if u unzip the archives on a windows machine
