  • Unlinked lights still cast shadows

    We noticed that when we unlink a light the surface still cast shadows. We can remove cast shadows from the mesh but then it wont cast shadows from other lights.

    Is this the intended behaviour or is it a bug?

    Hi,

    What is the version you're using?
    2.00.04 doesn't support shadow linking, but we've added it in the recent nightly builds.
    If you need this feature you can get access to them. Just write an e-mail to our
    support vraymaya@chaosgroup.com or directly to Vlado: vlado@chaosgroup.com

    Then you can use the "Lighting/Shading-> Break Shadow Links" and "Lighting/Shading-> Make Shadow Links"

      We are using stable build v16302. We tested to break shadow links but it did't work on our build.

        I think, it is only in the night-nightly builds. The stable ones don't have it.

            The shadow linking required some bigger changes to our code, so it would not be safe to port it to the current stable branch, unfortunately. It will go into the next service pack though.
