  • Using MayaRamp to drive the width of a grid Texture

    Hey guys,

I have some problems with the MayaRamp to drive the thickness/width of the MayaGrid. I want to achieve something like shown in the picture, which is rendered out by mayaSoftwareRenderer. When I render it with vray, the ramp is kind off ignored.
I placed a ramp in the U Width socket and gave it on top color white,, on the bottom black, which tapers the grid.
I also tried it with the GridTex instead of the mayaGrid but that works also not as expected.. I also gave the TexRamp a try but I don't quite understand, how it works

I think we just take the number value for the moment and ignore any texture attached to it. I will make a note to change this.

That's still in our "to do" list and our developers are working on it.
