  • changing the resolution for rendering causes strange behavior and finally crash

when working at any resolution for the renderings, lets say 640x480 and switching to another resolution causes vray/maya to behave very strange. The processors start working, nobody knows, what they are calcing then. When starting a render now, rendering doesn't seem to start. But if you tumble the cam or move it just a bit, the rendering goes further. Stop to move the cam and again nothing happens. Move it and it renders.. very very strange. And in the most cases right after the rendering completes, maya crashes.
I'm on maya 2012.5 and the latest stable build.

edit: also hitting escape to stop the rendering has no effect until any camera movement is done

I have seen something similar, and reported it here :
    http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...er-frozen-at-0

But for me it doesn't happen when I change the resolution, it's something else (not found yet).
I also see the processor starting to work for no reason, then when I try to start a render it is stuck at 0%.
This is on Maya2012 SAP (includes SP1), VRay nightly 2.15.01 build 17175 (22/10/2011), Windows Seven 64bit.
