  • Physical Camera export to Nuke ?

    Hi everyone,

I need to find a way to export an animated Vray physical cam to Nuke. After a little research I found this script

But unfortunately, it's only working in 3dsMax, and my rendering pipeline is maya-based.

    Is there a solution ?

    Thank you.

If you render as exr..you can get camera info from metadata.

Yes, V-Ray exports the camera parameters when you output .exr files.

does such nuke camera from exr metadata handle vraycam vertical shift ?

Bump for this last question, was dealing with vertical shift on some renders and just started using Nuke. Would love to be able to bring geometry in for relighting rather than rely on point position and normal relighting.

I don't think we write the shift value in the OpenEXR file; will make a note to do that. I'm not entirely sure how you would convert that to the camera transformation in Nuke though.

                Hey Vlado,

Sorry I did a quick search and this should probably be in the VRayMax forum but I'm sure it applies here as well. Would there be a way to export an stmap or lens file with the distortion/shift setting from vray to go into nuke? The only thing I've seen suggested was to align a plane and render out a UV pass but I haven't been able to get that working.

                Thanks!
