  • Vray refraction in standard material not working?

Weird things have been happening. May be a maya problem vs Vray but maybe someone could give me a pointer.

The exact same material is on the box as the front winshield of the car. Seems like the front windshield should be transparent. But its not. Also why is the car not showing up at all through the refractions in the glass box?

To create that material I simply took a standard material and turned up the refraction all the way. Works on the box (or does it?) but doesn't seem to work on the car windshield.

    Whats up with that??!!?
This has been bugging me a lot!!

    Thanks!!

I withdraw the question!!!! The car had "visible in refractions" unchecked.

Yep, if you import a piece of geometry (i.e. from an .obj file), it will have the visible in reflections and refractions options disabled by default for some reason.

      Best regards,
