  • Get focal distance from camera

    Usually I make a connection from the distance tool (which is constraint to one of my objects I want to follow) to the Focal Point of the PhysCam.
    Since the PhysCam (Still and Movie) doesn't work with MB, I go with the standard cam and try to deal with the DOF and MB Settings inside the global render settings.

    So far so good.. but I just figured out, when checking "Get the focal distance from camera" it just doesn't work - what means.. yes, I get something rendered, but totally out of focus.
    I assume it's another bug - however the translation is done, there is seriously something wrong.

    And now, I have no more options to control the DOF and the focal distance - well, I am talking about animating and changing the focus distance of course.

    Can you please fix that as well ?

    The default aperture seems to be pretty big and make the scene out of focus. Are you using appropriate value for your scene?

      There distance tool has two nodes. You can easily plug in the wrong one. What I do is go to hypershade and show up and downstream connections. The node you want will be sandwiched between the locators when you view that.

        @ivaylo:
        yes.. I usually try to use appropriate values ... in regards to the scene size, measure, and of course in relation to the cam and my real world.

        @metzger:
        hmmm... I am pretty sure I selected the right one.. but I will double check....

        Is this all going to be fixed in a nightly built with Vray 2.0 Linux Fedora 64 ?
