  • v-ray render view disappears

This has never happened to me before, but Maya never ceases to amaze me.
I am working on a scene in which my render view will not show, when I click render I see that it is in fact working (bottom left progress bar) but it wont show my rendered image. When I click show v-ray vfb nothing happens. It will work if I batch render, or else the image just ... disappears.

I have been working with this scene for a few hours now, it suddenly stopped working. Tried to open a new scene and import this one into the new one but nothing.

    Anyone ever experienced this?

    Regards,
    DM

    EDIT****

After many unsuccessful tries I was able to re-open my renders by doing the following:

-1st click the first render view button so that the regular maya render pops up
-2nd Dont worry that the image wont load, dont try and render, it wont work
-3rd click on the empty screen a few times/ move/ resize the empty render view
-4th click on the render region button and voila your VFB should pop up magically and then you can stop it and render what you need

I have perhaps the same prob here...
It happens after updating from a 2.0 stable version to a 2.1 version (stable or newer)...

Suddenly the VFB doesnt pop up and nothing helps!

I tried ur tricks but it doesnt help too!!

The only way for me was, to export the whole scene, setup a new emty scene and import it back.
    The VFB works as normal!

But its not practical, because renderlayers, etc. gone lost...

I have no Idea why that happens!
And I´m worry about the new 2.1 versions - some old projects doesnt work here.

In another scene the rendering starts like normaly, but hang up with 100% cpu usage after a few seconds, whyle lodaing textures.
    (maya 2011, win7)

    any ideas???

Komposer I feel your pain!! Now even my super technical logical and sensational trick won't open my VFB or my renders.
I am stuck again with the same problem and this is frustrating.

      Im on:
      Maya 2012 for windowsXP 64bit
      [2012/Jan/11|13:05:23] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 2.00.04 from Apr 28 2011, 03:30:14
      [2012/Jan/11|13:05:23] V-Ray: V-Ray core version is 2.00.01

lets hope for a solution soon.
      Cheers

        DM,

try following - here it works...

when maya is started, and u made a testrender, then in the lower taskbar of windows screen, u find 3 active icons.
maya, output window and the VRF window.
(im not shure if this is in XP64 the same - I hope so)

with a rightclick of the VFB u can say maximize window.
here by me, the VFB appears now, but maximized!
now u can take the window with the mouse and pull it a bit down!
then u can rezise it normaly..
from this moment on, it works perfect here!
after closing and reopening maya too.

        I hope it helps,
        cheers

This should be solved for the next service pack; the original issue happened if you saved the Maya scene while the V-Ray VFB was minimized.

          Best regards,
