  • Particles with vrayLightMaterial

    Hi!

I'm trying to render particles as spheres with a light material. Unfortunatly the spheres doesn't get rendered.

It works with a standart vray material with self illumination, but that way I'll have to enable GI for lighting effects, right?

    This is correct, yes.

Ok, thanks. So rendering particles (spheres, instances) with a light material is not supported by now?

For the moment we don't support lights in the Instancer at all, regardless of whether they are mesh lights or regular lights - something we have to work on.

However if you find a way to convert the particles to polygons, you can still use the light material on them in the usual way.

Ok. So when I render particle spheres they are treated as instances internally?

Spherical particles are treated as perfect spheres. Geometry through the Instancer is treated as instances.
