  • connecting opacityPP the right way

    Hi!

I'm using some particles with an instacer, export the PP attrs for color and opacity and connect them to a vrayMat. For the color everything is okay, but I can't get the opacity to work correctly. I wired the opacityPP of the particleSampler info to a reverse and the output of the reverse to the refraction color of the material. It works somehow, but I can't get the material completely opaque, it's alwazs semi-transparent. I thought it's maybe gamma-related and piped the opacityPP through a gamma correct, but the result was wrong, too.

I attached a scene, maybe someone knows what's going on.

    Thanks!

Well, in the "Shading" attributes for the nParticleShape1, the particle render type is set to "Blobby surface" and the opacity is set to 0.3 - if I set the opacity to 1.0, then the particles render as solid.

Also, it would be better to use either transparency or refraction - using both doesn't make much sense.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Ups, okay. Those connections were not broken up, sorry. And thanks for the tip! Works like a charm now.
