  • Problem with animated texture

I'm having some difficulty getting animated textures to work with VRayMtl.. I want to use an image sequence for the diffuse & self-illum channel, but it doesn't seem to be updating in the viewport nor the render. The same image sequence works with a Maya material though.

Also, (this isn't a VRay related question) but how would I set the image sequence to loop till infinity?

    Cheers!

I forgot to mention, I'm using a JPEG sequence and the file name format is "XXX.FrameNum.jpg"..

no probs here with image sequences..
      must work.

for endless loop you´ve to delete the automaticly generatet time expression and set the correct keys per hand.
than u can loop it easy by setting the animation curve into loop mode...

Can you post an example scene? Seems to work fine here.

        Best regards,

Thanks a lot for the replies guys! It turned out that the normals got flipped at some point of time. -facepalm-
I didn't realize it earlier during my test renders, since my texture is mostly black to begin with. Maya shaders apparently ignore this kind of stuff..
