  • VFB and Maya 2013 native render view

    Hello,

    I just notices this.
In maya2013, when Use V-ray VFB and Hide Render View are enabled, maya's render view still stays on top every time I re-render. When I minimize it, it pops up again.
Though, it's empty, and image renders in vfb as expected.

    It's new 2.30.01 build. Windows 7.

    Peace,

    Dj.

We had to disable the "Hide Render View" functionality as it was causing unexpected Qt crashes; unfortunately we also didn't find a way to easily prevent the Render View from popping up on re-render.

So for the moment I just keep the Render View somewhere towards the bottom of the screen out of the way until we figure how to work around this.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Thanks. That's exactly what I am doing right now
And there's always maya2012 to go back to.

well i'm having the same problems with 2012, so i don't think it'll "work" there as well...

would be nice to have just a single window for rendering. Perhaps even be able to tumble around in the render view like we can in modo and lightwave. Just one of those nice things that saves on time and screen space. I'll look forward to some kind of remedy in the near future I hope.

I was about to post the same issue when i saw this thread. Maya 2013 seems to have broken more than it has fixed and added nothing that 2012 SAP didn't have - or am i missing something?

This is not specific to Maya 2013; in fact we had the same Qt-related crash in Maya 2011 and 2012.
