VFB not showing when sent to render manager.

Hi there this is not so important but it used to work. When we submit a render via RenderPal manager the VFB does not show on client during rendering, so we only get to see the result on completion.
VRay 1.5 Maya 2011,2012.
The guys at RenderPal say it's a VRay issue can this be confirmed?

The V-Ray VFB is implemented in Qt now (it was wxWidgets before), however Maya does not initialize the Qt library when run in batch mode. This means that we cannot show the VFB in batch mode anymore.

We cannot revert to the wxWidgets code either as it caused crashes and did not play well with the rest of the Maya Qt UI.

Ok thanks for that, is it possible to manually start the vfb to show progress, could this be done?

For the moment, no. If you are rendering to a .vrimg file, you might be able to view the partial file as it is being rendered with something like PDPlayer, but this will not show things like irradiance map and light cache passes.
