  • Bug: White VFB

    Hi,

Just a heads up that I notice that on some newer builds, that sometimes the VFB will be pure white while rendering. It doesn't crash but when you close it, it doesn't come back again until you restart Maya.

I think it happens after you change the test resolution.

    (2013x64 and 2.25.01, revision 22272)
    Maya 2020/2022

    Hi,
Unfortunately we are not able to reproduce this issue.
Can you provide us with steps to reproduce or more details about it.

Yes, some steps would be helpful. Is it possible that you have turned on the display of the "Alpha" channel? Can you post a screenshot of the VFB when this happens?

      Best regards,
      Vlado

I'm just changing the test resolution and re-rendering (initiating it via Maya's Render View). It eventually happened to me.

If I render now, it will render but never display the render. Upon closing the VFB, it never reopens until I restart Maya.

Using WHQL certified drivers for Maya 2013 and a Quadro 2000 card if it also helps.

Edit: Hmmm....Just trying this for a second time now for a couple of minutes and it's not happening, this one maybe too difficult to track down!
I do notice that when switching resolutions and rendering (especially increasing test resolution) Maya will flash white for a millisecond, so maybe only very rarely it will sometimes fail doing this and that's when I get the white VFB?

Anyway, I just thought I should post this, although it's not urgent as it seems pretty rare.

I had this pop up using the latest nightly a few times, a few days ago in fact.

It actually reminds me of when I used to lose the VFB window in MAX completely!

A restart bring its all back up again though. Fun times.

            Hi snivlem,

This will surely be difficult to track down. So far we have been unable to reproduce it. As far as I can see from the screenshot there is nothing particular in your scene, so if you can think of a specific order of things to click on (for instance) when the white screen appears, please let us know.
