  • Vray hair shader sizzling

I grabbed one of the hair examples from the visor, and assigned the vray hair shader. I threw in a dome light and a rect light with irradiance mapping and light cache on. It looks great, but I am getting some sizzling in the hair and I am not sure how to get rid of it. I tried switching to brute force and that didn't fix it...so then I tried increasing AA to 1 and 7 (using adaptive dmc). Still no luck...any ideas?

    Here is a render:

You can see some sizzling in the blonde hair. The settings for that movie are adaptive DMC 1,4 with a .01 threshold. Irradiance map on high anim, light cache at 1500. Dome light at 32 subdivs, and a rect light at 24 subdivs. Using linear workflow.

Have you try to lower your threshold? mAybe to 0.05.

      Use this :
      DMC : 2-24
      Threshold : 0.007
      Filter : Cook variable, size : 2.5
GI : brute force - brute force, sub : 12

The render time with these settings is really long...did you change your adaptive amount or anything?

Adaptive DMC at 1/4 is really low for hair.

you need to raise your min samples. For example 3/16 (we use for all renders). And you need to filter your render.
