  • Displacement triangle artifacts

Hi i'm having this issue with displacement.
In the attached images you can see the problem.
In the picture 1 you can see that the displacement shows me the triangle subdvision of the cube.
In the picture 2 you can see that the problem disappear when i zoom in with the camera on the object.
I've attached also a screencap with my vray settings and another screen that shows the subdvision of the cube and displacement settings.
I've tried different antialiasing filter, type of lights (vray sun and rectangle ), image samplers, different images for the displacement (jpg grayscale and jpg normal map) and i've also tried to raise the parameters in the displacement section lowering the edge length but the problem remains.
It's a huge problem for me because i work often with displacement maps with details (noise, thin lines etc)
thanks in advance for the response.

    Fabio

my guess is that there is not enough tessellation happening for such a fine map. Try lowering edge length and see if that helps.

This issue was fixed a long time ago. You should download a nightly build from Feb 5 2012 or later.

The version i have, is the latest in the download section for maya 2012.
Is there another place where can i download newest build?
                Thanks.
