  • Interleaved TIFs

Is there any possibility of being able to change vray so that it renders out "interleaved" TIFs instead of "Per Channel Pixel Order" TIFs?

For VFX artists who composit in autodesk flame, vray just doesn't give any good options for renders.

TIFs from vray won't open on a flame. Period. It just won't read whatever format vray renders out.
TGAs work, but they aren't 16 or 32 bit.
    EXRs are problematic too.
JPEGs are right out (for obvious reasons).

This means that we just don't have a good workflow for vray renders. It would be awesome if vray could export DPX files too.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone else comping vray renders on a flame. If you have any solutions or workarounds.

    Thanks!

We will look into it, but it's pretty low priority as you can always convert the files to whatever formats you need.

      Hi,
When we switched to VRay, we also had to stop using TIF and TGA.
But EXR is working for us, what problem do you see ?

Installed the latest nightly build this after noon.
We rendered out a TIF using the "interleaved" option. And now it opens in flame without having to be converted.

Totally awesome. This is an enormous timesaver for people who work on flame/smoke/flint etc.
        Thanks so much! Greatly appreciated.

        Cheers
