  • Scatter Fog Material

    So I added a scatter fog material to a cone and it appears to work as expected when I shine a rect. light on the cone. It looks like a volumetric beam of light. Now how do I add a texture to the thickness/ density of it? Am I supposed to use Scatter Fog with some other material or node? Or do I have to use the environment Fog and apply that to the Vray-Mtl volume slot. . . which renders much slower?

    You'll have to use the environment fog shader plugged into the volume slot of the material. You can adjust the "step size" and "texture samples" parameters to control the speed of the environment fog.
