  • show in viewport switch.

    Hi there,

    Since as long as I recall, the "Show in Viewport" switch seems to be broken (Maya 2012+, Windows), it seems that it can toggle okay, but the initial state of being off doesn't apply to the scene and thus the background image always shows until I toggle the switch on, then back off again.

    I'm talking about the option in Render Settings, under Environment. Perhaps if it toggled vrayEnvironmentPreviewTm's LOD Visibility it would be more stable? Cheers

    Hi snivlem,

    Which V-Ray version are you using?
    Also could you tell us under what conditions does this occur? It is supposed to work as background texture in the regular viewport, it will probably not work in viewport 2.0 for instance.

    Best regards,

      Hi Yolov,

      It has happened with any nightly of V-Ray from October. Say;

      I have a file texture saved into the "Background Texture" slot.

      Usually when I close Maya, reopen the scene, "Show In Viewport" will be turned off yet the file texture will still be visibile in the viewport. Usually I have to toggle on "Show in Viewport", then turn it off again and V-Ray will then hide it from the viewport.

        It seems to be working fine here with 2011, 2012 and 2013 with stable and nightly builds, both x86 and x64 - when I reopen Maya and reload the scene - the texture is visible in the background and the checkbox in the Environment rollout is checked "on". Which V-Ray build are you using exactly? You can see it in the Maya output right after opening Maya, it should look like this:
        [2012/Nov/19|14:55:11] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 2.25.01, revision 22505 from Nov 17 2012, 02:14:09
        [2012/Nov/19|14:55:11] V-Ray: V-Ray core version is 2.00.02

        Maybe there is something more to this that I'm missing.

        Best regards,
        yolov
